Composition: me, myself, my future...

My name is Celia and I am 19 years old. Unfortunately I haven't got any brothers or sisters but I have lots of cousins.

When I was four I started doing Rhythmic Gymnastics and I used to train very hard for all important competitions. This sport was my life as I was very competitive, but due to my studies I had to stop training. The discipline I was taught during all these years really helped me to study hard too.

A few years ago my coach asked me if I would be a judge at the local competitions and I agreed. It was a great way to stay in touch with sport.

Choosing a teaching degree was easy because I love children and everything connected with education. If I hadn't chosen this degree I don't think I would have gone to University so I hope that I will be a good teacher.

How are you? Thanks for your last email. It was so nice to hear from you!

Sorry, I haven't written for a long time but I've been very busy doing all my assignments.

Anyway, do you that I told you that I had passed my final exam? Well, now I'm at University. I'm very happy! I'm studying for a degree. I love little children and because of this I have chosen something related to them. I'm at the School of Education.

The classmates are very nice. We have many professional teachers who help us a lot.

Personally, I think University is better than school. At school we had to learn a lot of things by heart and now I try to understand everything that the teachers say in class.

Although we have many assignments to do, I am really enjoying my first year at college.

I have to go now, I need to study for tomorrow's English exam.

Nowadays there are different ways of teaching. There is a debate on what is the best way to learn, with traditional methodologies or with modern methodologies.

On the one hand, many teachers were taught with traditional methodologies and for them is easier to teach their students in the same way. Moreover, many parents think that this is the best education for their children too.

On the other hand, modern methodologies use new technologies that are very useful in our society.

A lot of people believe that schools should use them to teach students. A spokesperson for the Ministry of Education commented that all schools would have to teach lessons with new technologies by the year 2020.

In conclusion, are new technologies better? In my opinion, they are changing the way that children are being educated, and this is good, because in the 20^th century, people need to know how to use technology in a good way.
